Soil Health as Public Health

Soil health—the result of the work of living organisms that build the structure and function of soils—has a profound impact on public health. Microbes and plants work together to create a living sponge that provides clean abundant water, safety during extreme weather events, and nutrient-dense food that prevents many modern diseases.
Didi Pershouse, author of The Ecology of Care and Understanding Soil Health and Watershed Function, will lead us through an exploration of how to rebuild the fundamental infrastructure of life.
